Mr. Asim Kocabıyık pointed out to the lack of education as the predominant reason underlying all the problems and said he was sincerely delighted with his investments in education sector.

My journey in Borusan Cat started in 1995 as an experienced instructor in charge of technical trainings for our clients, and the above-mentioned view of Mr. Asim has always been my guide. Following the same principles, we place the satisfaction of the training and professional development (L&D) needs of both our customers and colleagues at the center of our service culture. Over the past 27 years, Borusan Cat has evolved into a Caterpillar dealer, with a team of nearly 3,000 people, delivering products and services across 24 different industrial segments, from mining to construction projects, from power to offshore solutions, to more than forty thousand customers in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, and the Russian Far East. As Borusan Cat, we create new and proactive solutions that lead us to success in line with our motto “We create solutions for a better world”. We know that to achieve continuous success, we need a sustainable learning and development ecosystem. Simplifying access to information for both our colleagues and our business partners and clients, developing existing competencies, attracting new skills, and keeping them up-to-date is what helps us today to get ready for the future to come. While customer needs, technologies, and expectations are rapidly changing, the only stable reality that remains is “individualized and customized learning and development”.

In recent years, advances in technology, acceleration of digitalization, and the growing process of change, such as the business culture revolution caused by the pandemic, are changing our business lives. Our key goal is to maintain a sense of belonging to our company and to ensure that there is no disruption in the training and development of our clients and associates. As Mr. Acar Baltaş said: “Corporate performance is essentially a seed-soil relationship. The seed represents the employee, the soil represents the culture, and the leader represents the climate. For this reason, it is unrealistic to expect that issues and relationships that do not work out in the corporations will be corrected with single training sessions”. We are taking the necessary steps to take urgent action to ensure that the company's training and development programs keep pace with this digitization-accelerated change and create a sustainable global learning and development system.

Our Borusan Cat Global Learning and Development Strategy, which we developed in Q3-2021 in response to the changing dynamics of the world and learning styles, will guide us on this journey where peer-learning will be the driving force. Following the strategy that has been developed as a result of a long-term collaboration, we will provide solutions to our colleagues, business partners, and clients through our L&D teams in 6 countries and through our employees and experts in their fields, while the concept of learning from each other will be the basis of the process. We will provide the solution from wherever it is and deliver it to our stakeholders through our digital channels. We will take all actions, including the peer-learning method, to ensure that a learning and development program of any kind achieves its goals. The L&D journey of each of our friends will begin with the process of determining their customized needs, in collaboration with their leaders and themselves. We will enable the sustainability of the personnel development by utilizing the feedback and follow-up method on the learning and development processes through “LXP, Integrated Learner Experience Management” program, which we will complete and put into operation in 2022.

While learning and development landscape will change after the pandemic, we, at L&D, will support our colleagues in creating a strong and positive corporate culture based on our values. Because we are a fun and very, very happy family, and we work together to create a global learning and development environment that inspires, encourages collaboration, makes our colleagues feel the value of the work they do and allows us to learn from each other.

We will pro-actively manage the future needs with our “LXP, Integrated Learner Experience Management” system, which will not only find answers to the professional development needs of our colleagues through customized assessments, but also enable our customers to access information. With our motto: “Today be better than yesterday, tomorrow be better than today”, we aim to move from being a “learning provider” into a “talent developer”. Together with our existing L&D teams, both on global and national scale, as we keep pace with the constantly evolving and changing modern world, we will build a satisfactory learning and development system in which each of our colleagues will find the opportunity to add something up, both, to themselves and to our work on this journey.

As Mr. Asım Kocabıyık once stated: “I owe this country a debt of gratitude. I've worked my whole life to pay it off ", we, as the L&D team, feel responsible towards our colleagues, customers, and official dealerships, and we firmly believe that we will achieve success together.
