Strategic Initiatives: Borusan Cat as-a-Manufacturer

The speed of the services we receive and how long it takes to receive a product we buy has become much more important with the speed of technology development. Globalization and e-commerce have enabled us to access the product we want whenever we want. While production trends such as digitalization, automation, and additive manufacturing enable production processes to take place very fast and error-free, forecasting models make it possible to meet customer expectations and sustainable solutions make it possible to provide environmental benefits. While production processes are so fast, a disruption in the supply phase creates a great loss of value in the eyes of the customer. At this point, it becomes clear that the speed of production is not enough, and the importance of supply chain management becomes apparent.

Companies manage their supply chains with different strategies. For example, a company that wants to eliminate the waiting time for intermediate products in order to manage its supply chain more effectively may start producing intermediate products at its own facility. In this way, it will gain a competitive advantage by delivering the product to the customer faster. Engineering capabilities are as critical as the company's manufacturing capabilities when starting the production of a product.

As Borusan Cat, we have adopted the mission of being our customer's solution partner instead of being a service provider. In line with this mission, we launched the Borusan Cat as a Manufacturer initiative in order to meet customer expectations by utilizing our advanced equipment inventory, suitable production site, and high production capabilities, and to provide fast and high-quality solutions in accordance with demand. With this initiative, we aim to create value for our internal and external customers by increasing the utilization rate of our existing and potential CRC capabilities and to be able to meet our own needs in our own revision centers in case of any crisis in the supply chain. Borusan Cat's past production experiences (Bucket & Body), expert engineers and technicians, CRC equipment and hardware in Karaganda, and Gebze support Borusan Cat's position as an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer). As a manufacturer, during the Borusan Cat initiative, we are experimenting with the production of Cat and Non-Cat equipment and parts and exploring important opportunities in the CIS and other regions. Thus, we aim to be at the forefront of production by effectively utilizing our technological capabilities, engineering skills, and equipment.
