Strategic Initiatives: Talent Pool

Finding, motivating, and retaining the right talent is perhaps one of the most challenging issues for companies. Talent management strategies enable companies to develop various road plans in this challenging area. Each company develops a talent management strategy according to its own business approach. For example, Google's 20% rule encourages employees to spend 20% of their working time on projects of their own interest, while Netflix's "Freedom and Responsibility" culture aims to motivate employees by giving them more initiative.

Talent management covers all areas from attracting talent to retaining them in the company. It also makes it possible to identify the positions in the company that need a labor force, to find the right candidates and fill the relevant positions, to develop the skills of these employees in accordance with the business requirements, and to keep the employee in the company in the long term. As Borusan Cat, we launched the Talent Pool initiative to strengthen our talent pool in line with company needs, reduce layoffs, find the right employees, and ensure their loyalty to the company. Within the scope of this initiative, we aim to understand both the needs and expectations of talents, i.e. our potential colleagues, and Borusan Cat's own talent needs, and thus develop strategies to ensure that the right talents are included in our company.

For successful talent management, it is necessary to first influence the talents through employer brand management strategies. For this reason, we take part in various online platforms, career fairs, and university events under the name Borusan Cat. Finding the right candidates through assessment processes and introducing our new colleagues to Borusan Cat culture through recruitment and adaptation processes are the next steps after attracting talents. Planning programs that support our new colleagues in shaping their careers through training, development, and mentoring programs, providing career management support, and keeping talents within our company through employee engagement strategies to ensure that their career journey continues at Borusan Cat are among the other steps of successful talent management. By incorporating talents that will support our development, we are growing and strengthening our company’s purpose statement "We Create Solutions for a Better World".
