Hello, I'm Daniil Chebotarev. I am pleased to be part of the Borusan Cat Kazakhstan family, and, looking back, I am glad I did not give up. I am writing this article hoping that what I have achieved today without giving up on my dream will inspire you.

I took my first step on a hard nonetheless incredible journey in Borusan Cat Kazakhstan after receiving a Bachelor's degree in mining engineering from KazNTU *. I say "hard" because it took 4 times for me to get into the company. It will be because one day I will share this adventure with you, I have never given up. After the fourth interview, on June 16, 2011, I received the long-awaited answer “yes”, and, finally, I became part of this huge family and a global brand operating in 6 countries.

The role of a Technician, which I took on the Varvarinskoye project in the Kostanay region, became the starting point of my career in the company. After that, I took on different tasks in different projects. I had the opportunity to visit 15 cities in Kazakhstan in 2 years; in total, I was on a business trip for 43 days. There is nothing better to broaden your horizons than travel!

I can not help but share my favorite places from my travels. Karaganda, located in the southeast of the capital of Kazakhstan (Nur-Sultan), became my second home, and after a while, I remembered its streets like the back of my hand, as I have been here most often. What a city! Where to buy coffee before a meeting, where to go for breakfast, where are the local delicacies? Actually, in this city, there is no need for such questions because I have never been disappointed in any institution that I accidentally got into. But if you still need advice on what to do here, I am the person you want to talk to. I adore the nature of the East Kazakhstan and West Kazakhstan regions like nothing else. Their beauty is truly unique, and the places to explore it are limitless! Over time, sending photos to friends from trips to Western Kazakhstan became a tradition. I confess that I am far from a good photographer, but the landscapes were so beautiful that I felt like an artist. However, the best food, in my opinion, is in the south. I say this as someone who loves to eat; the taste of meat here every time remains on the tongue!

And the Almaty region… Even the thought that I am here makes me shudder! It is as if the most beautiful sides of all the regions I have mentioned come together here... I sort of compare Almaty with our company; different cultures, ideas, and beauties came together and made each other even more beautiful!

During my time at Borusan Cat, the trust my supervisors had in me and the consideration of my suggestions motivated me to work harder and find solutions beyond the traditional. The fact that I was appreciated strengthened my courage even more. In 2016, while continuing to work for the company, I received a Master's degree in mining engineering from Moscow State Technical University* in Russia. I continued to develop my knowledge and skills in this area, that is, to explore new technologies. When hobby and profession intersect, amazing things happen! In parallel with my work at Borusan Cat Kazakhstan, I became a member of a public committee and helped organize unforgettable events for myself and my colleagues.

A year later, I had the opportunity to go on business trips abroad. I visited Russia and Spain for educational purposes. During the same period, I  was a speaker at various seminars. This experience allowed me to improve my communication skills. Any person can take one new step on the path to self-improvement every day if they want to.

I also had the opportunity to go on a business trip to America, the home of Caterpillar®. This trip made me feel like I was visiting a family member whom I had never seen but whose name I had heard many times. It was an extremely educational experience. But speaking between us, I say this completely impartially, Kazakhstan is much more beautiful! I continued my career path at Borusan Cat Kazakhstan in a new position in the Digital and Technological Solutions Department. Thanks to this, I took part in many new projects and trainings. Once again, I saw the importance which my company places on education, and I felt how interested they are in seeing me reach my full potential. Thanks to the opportunities provided to me and the doors that have opened in front of me, I have significantly increased my knowledge in my field of work.

Looking back, I received over 15 pieces of training that helped me. Not too bad for someone who gets a yes on the fourth try, right? Today I contribute to the learning process by sharing the knowledge and experience gained with my colleagues and clients. In addition, I continue to seek and receive new information for my personal development and career growth. I think that to "keep learning" is the key! The sustainability of the learning process is very valuable. Travel, training, transfer of skills... I believe that our company culture, which strives for continuous improvement and where learning is recognized as a necessity, is our greatest strength. Borusan Cat has a myriad of resources for growth and learning. The support provided for the use of these resources also offers unique development opportunities. Today, compared to the day I started my business life, I see myself much more prepared and ready to take on any challenge that may come my way. The influence of Borusan Cat on how I came to this state is significant and valuable.

If our goal is to "provide solutions for a better world", we need to explore, study and use the best ideas from anywhere on our planet. This is a great opportunity for Borusan Cat to embrace this vision for both our employees and the future of our planet.

And it is a big honor to take advantage of this opportunity. Continue to learn, improve, and try again, despite the obstacles, expanding your horizons and improving the planet Earth!
