Gamification allows us to implement in the virtual world all the actions we perform physically but in a more economical and accessible way. We have the opportunity to live any desired moment with comfort regardless of place, time, or weather.

In the world of games, you can do many sports, games, or activities that are not available to you in real life. Everything that interests us can be experienced with a realistic simulation. Sometimes a skill learned in a simulation can even be useful in real-life situations.

For example, more than anything, I dreamed of becoming a race car driver. Due to the choice of a different direction and goals in life, this dream eventually turned into a hobby that continued to this day. It is also worth mentioning that I am physically unable to allocate enough time for this. And then, one day, I realized that I had a powerful and very close-to-reality car at my disposal. Yes, I mean computers.

I got acquainted with the gaming world in the late 90s. In this fascinating universe, which I started with cassette console games, today I can connect the steering wheel of my car to my desk and have very realistic and safe training and racing. This kind of progress relaxes me. Moreover, the ability to sit down for a game as soon as I cross the threshold of my room brings me even closer to esports. If desired, I close myself in my shell and play games alone, or, conversely, I play together with my friends from the chat channels.

In our adventure, which we went on with an exclusive line-up of my brother, cousin, and myself, we noticed many interesting moments during the game. The first one is loneliness and the lack of games. While some prefer to play alone, -it's less common than spending time together- I usually find it more enjoyable to spend time together.

Our exclusive line-up established and closed esports clubs many times. Established and closed again and again... Before every new step, we considered our shortcomings, mistakes, and needs. Each time we grew a little. Of course, in this process, it was necessary to capture and apply all the innovations that modernity and digitalization brought us every day. When new friends joined the game, I realized they only play fixed games, and, based on that, I created private chat channels for all popular games. We got to know different people during the games but attracted into our roster those who can comply with our rules and criteria.

During this process, I can tell that proper growth is not only self-development but also its extension to the social circle with continuous improvement. During the height of the pandemic, as we all remember, we spent a lot of time in the virtual world, and as soon as we got bored, we returned to our exclusive 10-people team. Then a new opportunity opened up in front of me. During one meeting with my co-workers, the topic was raised about the lack of opportunities for employees to gather with teammates outside of work, and the question arose of how they could spend time together in the gaming world. Two of my friends joined me, and right there we were like “We want to start an esports club inside Borusan Cat!”.

And yet, I started to feel somehow excited about my corporate life. After our meetings, where we discussed the rules of the club, 50 people immediately joined it. From the moment we started the club, our primary goal was to organize tournaments that were diversified depending on the types of games, both within the company and inter-corporate. We can call it our dream. After all, we aimed for the sky, thus we needed patience and time.

In the first step, we planned considering such requirements as attracting the attention of teams, selecting fans of the same type of games and similar pastimes, and organizing their participation in activities in the same line. Our priority was to form teams in such a way as to distribute tasks while spending time playing games for a certain period, it was the time when we needed maximum support. We accepted everyone who wants to play games while participating in the technical side too.

The second step was to determine the number of players in different types of games and to combine them on one platform. By the way, we started to make video recordings during games and chatting.

As one of the new skills brought by Borusan Cat Esports Club into my life, I learned how to record videos, use editing programs, and upload videos on special platforms. Right after we created a Youtube channel and uploaded several videos. I think the number of entries will increase over time as we grow.

And here we are, in the third step where our voices are heard a little more. Now it’s time for training with different teams in online platforms where gamers and types of games are determined. We spend some time here improving our skills via unofficial tournaments. In the future, we plan to hold meetings with other Borusan companies or other organizations that organize professional tournaments and make sure that the voice of our Borusan Cat E-sport Team is heard throughout the country.

I would also like to talk a little about our chat rooms, game types, and activities. First, we have a chat app not only for games, but also for getting support on other topics, chatting, sharing knowledge, and getting informed about technology news. Meanwhile, there are also relatives of Borusan employees on our channel. By giving them the role of guests, we ensure that they take their place among us. Our game genres are endless. Everyone's favorite genres may be different, that’s why we create special rooms for games according to preferences. We even diversify game platforms apart from game types by consoles, divided into browser games, PC games, etc.

So, what stands out among what we have done in this short time? I can say that my friends and I have already spent a lot of time doing a variety of activities 2-3 days a week. Of course, since we couldn’t record anything at the time, we store all our memories on the hard drives of our memory only. Wars, simulations, and web games are especially popular. We learn how to be a team by playing war games, we learn to race against time by playing race and simulation games and we have a pleasant and quality time by playing web browser games and applying our knowledge and skills.

We look forward to your participation in our club, where we can talk a little more, diversify the range of our games and have fun. It is enough to send an e-mail to the management of Borusan Cat Esports Club, and we will welcome you at the door of our esports world.
