As Borusan Cat's operations evolve in line with the sustainability strategy, recently, we have managed to increase the total installed capacity of the biogas power plants launched in Turkey closer to 105 MW. As a result of our EPC team's performance, we successfully implemented our turnkey solutions in these biogas facilities and reached the highest efficiency and availability level demanded by our customers. Our biogas solutions have been generating enough electricity to meet the needs of 257,000 households annually. Accumulated methane gas in landfills endangers the safety of life and property by causing big explosions. Therefore, the conversion of the gas into electrical energy protects our nature.

The biogas plants, which we commissioned in Turkey, produce energy from landfill, agricultural, and livestock waste. Today, these plants run their operations successfully. Besides Turkey, we focus on offering EPC solutions to customers in Kazakhstan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and Georgia. It is always our main priority to share our knowledge to increase environmental awareness and nature-friendly investments. We will continue to support investors with our solutions, especially in feasibility and design issues.

Contribution of Hybrid Systems to Efficiency and Sustainability

Diversification of renewable energy sources and the new storage technologies eliminate one of the barriers for hybrid solutions to compete with other fossil fuel power plants. The governmental incentives announced last year in Turkey remain relevant for other countries as well. Nowadays, governments evaluate hybrid systems as a significant development area of their energy strategies.

The motto of Borusan Cat is "We create solutions for a better world”. That is why we strive to diversify renewable energies, which is a growing trend worldwide. We aim to expand current activities by integrating solar systems into biogas plants for increasing efficiency. Boosting our productivity within the hybrid business model and going beyond expectations will help us achieve our sustainability goals.
