Since my childhood, amateur sailing, water sports, and amateur fishing have become a passion for me.
My memories of love for the sea are a legacy from the past; when I was born, my grandfather said, "My fishing buddy has arrived" and drew an invisible roadmap for me. These words, even without my awareness, guided me like a lighthouse. In this blue journey which I continue with my family and friends, it still holds a great value that my grandfather passed me his love for the sea.
As a little child, I remember witnessing how the sea came to life with the sun during the day and the magical glimmers of phosphorescence at night. I want to emphasize that I was only three years old, as I say 'a little child'. Now I understand better what a great wealth this was for a small child. These experiences are among the most special memories for me.
The vast blue of the sea, the different colors of the sky every day, the breeze of the wind, and the excitement of fishing are not only a hobby for me but also a way of life.
The sea is an irresistible pleasure for me. Setting off before the sun rises, the allure of the unknown, overcoming every setback with pleasure is a different feeling, and I can't imagine someone giving up this pleasure after experiencing it. The sea continues to lead me into completely different adventures in every period of my life. While accumulating plenty of excitement, peace, and happiness, fishing also teaches patience.
The sea and fishing also offer the opportunity to be in harmony with nature. Perhaps the greatest value that cannot be taken back is time, and I try to make the most of this time by being as close to the sea as possible. The silence of the sea, the tranquility provided by the waves, and the unique rhythm of fishing represent an escape from the chaos of city life for me. Taking up the fishing rod focuses my attention on the beauty of the moment and brings the miraculous music of the water to my ears instead of the noise of the city.
After spending time in this magical world of the sea for years, I would like to share with you the joy of reaching the fish I dreamed of this summer! I didn't anticipate that there would be a miracle waiting for me in the sea when I went fishing. It was around 8 in the morning, the sea was calm, and there was no sign that a struggle would begin soon, but if your line is in the water, there's always a chance :) The deep silence was replaced by moments full of excitement as the fishing line went through my hands at full speed. After a 1-hour struggle, I managed to pull a giant 80-kilogram tuna onto the boat. The excitement of catching the biggest fish of my life, and the joy I derived from the struggle and difficulty, is truly an indescribable feeling that is etched in my memory. This magnificent creature I caught reminds me once again of the power of determination and the importance of patience.
I see the biggest secret of my enjoyment as the fact that my mentors taught me the ethics of fishing very well. The pleasure you get is related to your own common sense and conscience, along with the respect you show to the sea, the environment, and nature, which offer you many blessings. Throughout the time I spend at sea, I pay attention to whether each fish I catch is within the defined limits. The periods of fishing bans and the release of endangered species are among the issues I pay the most attention to.
I hope you have the chance to witness the miracles of the sky and earth, and especially the miracles of the sea, with the joy that patience, struggle, and success bring. Most importantly, I wish that the passion for the sea within you never diminishes.
Good luck!
