Although years have passed since the pandemic began, its effects are still ongoing. We all remember the chaos of its first days. Images of the period when offices and schools were closed and the streets were empty are still alive in our memory.

Today, while our lives have returned to normal, we still feel the consequences of the changes that occurred during the pandemic. Concepts such as remote (distant) work, online education, and others seem to continue to be present in our lives.

Remote Work

We remember well how we left the office to work from home for the following two weeks. It will not be wrong to say that everything did not go exactly as we thought it would. During that period, when two weeks turned into years, a digital transformation began, and each of us still carries it on to this day. After all, deep inside we know that nothing will ever be the same again.

The remote work model consists of two separate elements: employees and the business model. One of the key success factors here is to ensure that employees remain loyal to the company during the remote workflow and that they are imbued with the vision and goals of their organization.

The second element, the business model, refers to the implementation of a digital transformation process that will support the remote work model. Through digital transformation, it is possible to measure business continuity and track task completion and efficiency even in remote work, enabling companies to achieve their financial goals.

The efficient implementation of these two elements will both prevent the loss of talented employees and increase efficiency by allowing companies to omit unnecessary costs.

Digitalization in the Education Sector

Of course, one of the areas most affected by the pandemic is education. With the pandemic, the lives of millions of students from elementary grades to universities have changed completely, and the process is still ongoing. That is one of the best examples of digital transformation.

For the school year to continue, the education sector had to quickly undergo a massive transformation. The steps taken to ensure that students get their education even at home are fascinating. The term “zoom classes” entered our lives, breaking hearts with an abundance of unconnected video cameras in the classroom, but as a result, the learning process continued during the pandemic.

Educators trying to engage students became digital transformation pioneers. Education continued both through individual efforts, such as professors organizing their classes, and centralized efforts, as in the case of the Ministry of Education, which launched television programs for students. Of course, after such success, people have a question: “If digital education is possible, then do we even need to go to school?”

The answers to this question vary from person to person. However, the success, simplicity, and freedom of digital education continue to increase the number of supporters of this method.

Growing Investments in Digitalization During the Pandemic

As with the education sector, investment in digital transformation has grown exponentially during the pandemic. These investments are based on the theory that “every physical action can also be done online” and could create marvelous scenarios for the future.

With the process that began with meetings on Zoom, the concept of the metaverse has also become firmly established in our lives - online concerts, fairs, film festivals, reading clubs, an endless variety of events, and much more no longer seem out of the ordinary.

Of course, the necessary infrastructure for all this also creates great investment opportunities. Much yet remains to be done as if we were building a frontier town on the newly discovered territory. These needs, which arose during the pandemic, are also a driving force of investments. Companies, individuals, and institutions are preparing for the online, or remote, future.

Even those brands that choose not to work remotely are looking to rise to a better position by making breakthroughs in digitalization. In the post-pandemic period, which we are in now, it is only natural that digitalization is considered to be a new gold rush.
